Abandoned: Weekly Photo Challenge

Weekly Photo Challenge:

Abandoned

March 2 garden 021

This abandoned seed pod still clings to our Rose of Sharon shrub.

Empty now of seeds, eaten by birds or spread to the wind, it is a mere husk of its former vibrant, green, verdant self.

One day soon I’ll get to the pruning, and this abandoned seed pod will join other abandoned bits in the compost, ready to dissolve into the rich loam of fresh beginnings.
