Sunday Dinner: Small Miracles

“Miracles are a retelling in small letters
of the very same story
which is written across the whole world
in letters too large
for some of us to see.”
C.S. Lewis

“People usually consider walking on water
or in thin air a miracle.
But I think the real miracle
is not to walk either on water or in thin air,
but to walk on earth.
Every day we are engaged in a miracle
which we don’t even recognize:
a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves,
the black, curious eyes of a child—
our own two eyes.
All is a miracle.”

Thich Nhat Hanh

“There are days when I think I don’t believe anymore.
When I think I’ve grown too old for miracles.
And that’s right when another seems to happen.”
Dana Reinhardt

“I am realistic –
I expect miracles.”
Wayne W. Dyer

  1. Beautiful quotes and photos. Spring is a miracle and it’s a joy to see it blooming in your garden. Blessings!

    • Blessings to you, Sarah. Thank you. It always feels miraculous to see a bud pop from a woody stem, and soon unfold into a flower or new leaf.

I was thinking of you as I snipped Hellebores for the bowl, hoping you would see Friday’s post. I hope that your own garden is happily filling with Hellebores this spring ❤ ❤ ❤

  2. Your shrubs are blooming! Enjoy a sniff for me. 🙂
