Morning has broken like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing,
Praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the world.

Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight,
Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play.
Praise with elation, praise ev’ry morning,
God’s recreation of the new day.

This beautiful song, performed by Cat Stevens, has been a life-long favorite. It speaks not only to morning, but also to the morning of the year: spring. It is the perfect lyric to accompany these photos taken in our garden today.

I love your photos 🙂
Thank you Arlene ❤ ❤ ❤
One of my favorite songs, too. 🙂 Your photos are wonderful, I can’t believe how much is blooming in your garden now! Everything has awoken!
Eliza, I knew you’d love that one, too. Yes, it is all opening now, even the trees leafing out. We are 3 weeks ahead of normal, at least. It felt like May this evening. Our Azaleas began blooming today, believe it or not. Last year we didn’t see them until near the end of April. Flowers come out in hours, not days this season. Hold on tight! Spring is headed your way, too ❤ 3
A whole month early, that is amazing. I’m ready for it!
Great choice of song. It makes the photos pop.
Thanks for that! And thank you for visiting.
