Knowing is not enough; we must apply.

Being willing is not enough; we must do.”

  1. I guess if you provide the buffet, they will come…but not all of us can capture them in a photo as you have.

    • That is very sweet, Rickii, but I give all credit to the camera. Mine halts motion for a few seconds so I have at least a fighting chance at a clear shot. We both love watching them and look on them as wild ‘pets.’ Like all creatures, they respond when you talk with them and love them. This is just a wonderful season as they gather to feed before migration. Did you get rain? Our daughter had rain a few days ago. The raincoat and boots have arrived, so now the weather may shift 😉

  2. Pretty little flutterbutt …how she loves your lantana! ❤

    • Lantana is the magnet 😉 Can you grow it in your garden? New plants take a long time to get started. The deeply rooted ones which have survived a few winters grow as large as small shrubs and attract the most butterflies.

      • Not hardy here, but I usually buy a few to put in pots on the porch. It’s the coneflowers around here that get our butterfly traffic. Mostly fritillarias and swallowtails for the big ones and skippers and sulfurs for the little ones.

  3. Beautiful pictures of beautiful butterflies so delicate 🙂

  4. Oh, I would love to see those lovely creatures dining in my garden! Beautiful!
