Dawn is the time when nothing breathes,
the hour of silence. Everything is transfixed,
only the light moves.”

and by degrees the forms and colours of things
are restored to them, and we watch
the dawn remaking the world in its antique pattern.”

Beautiful. I love your early morning shots and the quotes too. April is so beautiful. I just wish it would slow down.
truly a celebration of spring – thanks for this early morning share and my fav of the quotes is this:

“When you arise in the morning,
think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive-
– to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love”
ahhh so true – have a nice day
If only we could remember that each morning 😉 You are so welcome- hope you have had a wonderful weekend ❤
I did – thx – and now getting ready for a nice spring week – april is going way too fast – but it might be my favorite april ever (because march was so cold this year)
It has been gorgeous here this April. Now with the warmth, everything is growing so amazingly quickly! I can see changes from morning to dusk… what excitement! Hope your week is a good one. Best wishes, WG
thanks wg – and how cool to see the changes morning to dusk – and i know for me – spring has never felt better because we had such a long winter where in VA this year – have a good night
🙂 And a really hot summer helps me appreciate winter. One thing I enjoy here in Virginia are the clear transitions from one season to another. Best wishes- WG
oh you said that right about the transitions here in VA – and it is one of my hubs favorite things and for our first bunch of years living here were used to call VA america’s secret wonder – we still feel the way for the other things besides the full 4 seasons – like mtns, sea access – and well – I guess I also like how it is in the middle of FL and NY – that has worked well for our extended family. have anise day
I adore the white dogwoods; they are one of the most beautiful small trees, especially when contrasted with the azaleas – your garden is stunning!
Thank you so much, Matt 😉 We certainly enjoy this garden. Thank you for visiting Forest Garden. These lovely dogwood trees grow wild here. We had 14 in this part of the garden when we came. Two have since been damaged in storms, but are recovering. It is a lovely time of year. Best wishes, WG
Lovely words and photos, Elizabeth! Inspiring post! I wanted to apologize for not getting back to you about April 25th. While my wife and I would love to meet up with you again, we have plans in the morning and afternoon that day. How long will you be staying in Oregon? I wish you safe travels. Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, my friend!
Cheers,
Tyler
Thank you, Tyler 😉 Schedules remain fluid until the last minute, oftentimes. I’m just nailing down plans, now. Please check for an email 🙂 Hope you’re both well- E
Beautiful photos and such wonder quotes to go with them, WG. I was there with you, and could hear a pin drop.
It was nice having you on that early morning walk, Hugh. The cat helped us get up so early, before the sunrise, as he was vocal in his desire to get out into the morning for a prowl! Not even the birds were singing yet, and the blooming holly perfumed the air. Such a perfect spring Virginia morning 😉 Giant hugs, WG ❤
Sounds perfect. I do enjoy early mornings, before the business of the day arrives, especially when the days are going to be hot and the early morning has that chill to it. So refreshing, and a perfect way to start the day.
The dog woods and azaleas as beautiful! Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday, Michael. the Azaleas are just beginning to open. They surprise me with that vibrant color again and again each spring. Cheers! WG
Same here too, we also have a lot of the native azaleas on the mountain. They are white with a little pink and are beautiful again his year.
Will there be photos? 😉 Must be just stunning….
I saw a lot of them before the rain and I did not get pictures. Raining now for more than a week, I will have to see if any of the blooms are still on them!! We had over 1-1/2 inch yesterday!
Sounds like wader-weather, Michael. Rain really does make it difficult for us to enjoy the spring flowers. My Hostas are up, and I got them sprayed with critter repellent 2 days ago. I hope they will make it this year. Best wishes, WG
Lovely spring! Enjoyed these quotes. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Thank you, Eliza 😉 Hope you will as well 😉
