“Let go of certainty.

The opposite isn’t uncertainty. It’s openness,

curiosity and a willingness to embrace paradox,

rather than choose up sides.

The ultimate challenge is to accept ourselves

exactly as we are,

but never stop trying to learn and grow.”

“A farmer is helpless to grow grain;

all he can do is provide the right conditions

for the growing of grain. He cultivates the ground,

he plants the seed, he waters the plants,

and then the natural forces of the earth

take over and up comes the grain…

This is the way it is with the Spiritual Disciplines –

they are a way of sowing to the Spirit…

By themselves the Spiritual Disciplines can do nothing;

they can only get us to the place

where something can be done.”

  1. Beautiful spring photos! 🙂

  2. Your redbuds are blooming! 😀

  3. Good morning and happy Sunday. I love the first quote, Elizabeth, particularly.

    • 😉 Me, too. That one really speaks to me and has been sort of a life long ‘theme.’ Hope you have a beautiful day planned today, Barbara. I’m getting ready to pull on some jeans and head out into the garden. Maybe the Zinnia seeds will get planted today 😉 Dropped into the upper 30s here last night… much cooler than the forecast. A surprise after such a gorgeous warm day yesterday 😉 Giant hugs, E
