One Word Photo Challenge: Shamrock

March 31, 2015 shamrock 002

Shamrocks are always on my mind in March.

Their vibrant green leaves are among the first new growth each spring, heralding the new season.

I’m glad that Jenny chose “Shamrock” as one of her colors for March.  Leaving it to the end of the month means there is lots of vibrant green showing itself in the garden now.

This is the time of year when we can entertain ourselves for hours at a time wandering around in the garden noticing what has begun to grow.  New leaves and flowers pop out each day now.

The particularly tender, fresh shade of spring green is what I think of as “Shamrock.”

  2. So glad the color lined up so well. Your images are beautiful as always. The fresh signs of spring are so endearing. (as a side note, thanks for reblogging the post about the classic edit mode, oh do I hate the new version)

    • 😉 Jenny, I hope the work- around made your life easier. Thank you for your kind words on the shamrock post. This color was such a pleasure to post. I see the new weather series will begin soon. I’m sorry to see the colors end, but I don’t see how we could keep it going unless you began over again with the beginning 😉 Best wishes, WG

      • I’m glad you enjoyed the shamrock topic. And yes, the work around is perfection. I think many will be sad to see the colors go. They could go on forever, there are so many color names, but in essence it’s the same essential colors over and over. Very nice for a photo challenge though. I think it’s time we expand our horizons a bit. I hope weather is still open enough that everyone will have something to contribute.

  3. My Irish heart beats a little faster at the very word.

  4. I am glad it’s April and looks like Spring has finally replaced winter here. We had 75 degrees today. Shamrock is green and growing rapidly here, flowers are blooming too and the trees are starting to leaf! 🙂

  5. what a fun take on shamrock! and spring is in the air for sure…. 🙂

  6. I won’t be sad to see March go – it has been a long month! Looking forward to April and finally, our release from winter! I want my garden to look like yours! 😉

    • I want your garden to look better than ours!!! At least we are seeing progress now as the garden relaxes into a bit of warmth. I brought the Olive trees back out of garage storage this evening, and hope the freezing weather is now behind us…. fingers crossed…. 😉
