How To Force A Redirect To The Classic WordPress.com Editor Interface

For blogging colleagues using WordPress:

(All other visitors to Forest Garden, please excuse this bit of housekeeping business…. more flowers and gardening posts to follow!)

Here is a post which might interest WordPress users who prefer the Classic WordPress editor.

Links in this post will allow you to “fix” your WordPress experience so the classic editor is the only one you will see. It is a workaround. I’m re-blogging this link found on an English friend’s blog, and hope you will also  find it helpful.  I just followed the instructions in the post, and it is working for me… so far so good….

Best wishes,

The Solution To Use The Classic Editor

If you are blogger at wordpress.com, this post here will help you to solve a big problem. As you have noticed, the decision makers at WordPress want to force you to use the recent new editor interface that is purely designed for mobile devices and for users who only create short-form content. This is of course a pain if you are desktop user and if you like to create long-form content as well. In this post you will learn how to get back to the classic editor permanently.

  1. Thank you for posting this useful reblog, WG! At present I still seem to be able to reach the classic posting page via the WP Admin link on my Stats page but as I am not a fan of the new editor I will be keeping this info handy for future reference 😉

  2. Ugh. I’m sorry to see that WordPress is still trying to force the new editor on us. I default to the old one for now, but have bookmarked that page in the event I lose that ability. Thanks for the heads up and the link to a fix. 🙂

    • You are welcome Robin. I had been accessing the classic editor from the admin page, but continued to get annoyed by the new one popping up from other links. With this fix, I have eliminated another tiny annoyance from my life 😉 Best wishes, WG

  3. I did it and the instructions were easy to follow and best of all, it worked! 😉
