“Daffodowndilly

She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down.
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
“Winter is dead.”

  1. are they recent pictures ???? !!!

  2. I had a bad case of cabin fever today, that even a walk couldn’t dispel, but this post is just the ticket! It’s always darkest before the dawn, right?

    • That is right! We went out for our first drive today in several weeks, past more of winter’s stark browns and bares. And then, miraculously, we found this beautiful patch of daffodils! These are reliably the earliest we know of in the area, right along the road near the James River. We were so happy to get photographs, and I hope they give you a nice color fix 😉 Warm hugs, WG

  3. Awesome picture, they have not started blooming here yet! We are suppose to have temperatures around 10 degrees Saturday and Sunday! Stay warm!

    • You stay warm, too, Michael. That is wicked cold! We are supposed to go down to around 18 Sat. night after maybe 50s on Saturday. But we have flurries in our forecast for tomorrow. I love this patch of early Daffodils! They are consistently the first we find in bloom each year. Best wishes, WG

  4. Promises of spring, I can’t wait. Lovely pics, thanks!
