One Word Photo Challenge: Golden Turtle
Our Eastern Box turtles have remained in the garden this week.
This one was enjoying the cool shade of our butterfly garden, and its mate was nearby in some tall grass.
I found them while watering, weeding and trimming earlier today, a golden opportunity to enjoy the wild creatures who live here with us.

With appreciation to Jennifer Nichole Wells for her One World Photo Challenge: Gold
How awesome that you have TWO – Doubly blessed! Such beautiful markings. Peaceful creatures. 🙂
Very peaceful- they are welcome to munch the weeds all day and night. We are blessed to have them with us. 😉

He’s beautiful! Love the markings. Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
Thank you, Jennifer- best wishes, WG
Their shells are so beautiful. 🙂
😉 Hope you’re well, Robin.
What cool symbols those turtles display! 🙂 With orange-ish eyes and a stare of surprise!
😉 Ancient works of art, directly from the Source. In what language may these glyphs be read? I had just removed the leafy “volunteer” plant beneath which this little one was hiding, and was happy he stuck his face back out a little so I could take his photo 😉 Happy Sunday, UT! Best, WG
He is really beautiful! Looks like you have a garden friend, I am sure he is staying because he is finding all the food and water he needs! I hope you are doing good! We had our 11-1/2 month old grandson all day today, finally got him asleep and now playing catch up on the blog!
Sounds like fun! I’m glad you’ve had family for the weekend. I enjoyed reading your posts earlier today. Our garden is full of critters at the moment. Our rabbit was back tonight, but took off for the ravine when I was out spraying deer repellent at dusk. A cool evening here, but the rain just evaporated before falling these last few days. Best wishes, WG
